LCiP Awards Portugal 2016

The LCiP Awards Portugal 2016 were organized by the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology - LNEG and distinguished the work done in life cycle approaches by Portuguese professionals and companies. This second edition of the LCiP Awards was celebrated in order to raise awareness and stimulate lifecycle thinking in business and improving the environmental, social and economic impact of products and services.

The LCiP Awards took place on June 23, during the final event of the LCiP project which marked the conclusion of this international project and the launch of the Life Cycle Approaches and Circular Economy Resources Centre, located in LNEG - National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, in the Lumiar campus, Lisbon.
The awards were structured into two categories:

  • Category 1: Information and communication of sustainability with a life cycle perspective
  • Category 2: Environmental, social and economic performance of products and / or services

The jury was convened by LNEG and composed by experts from the following entities: Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente; Centro Tecnológico da Cerâmica e do Vidro; Direção-Geral de Energia e Geologia; Escola Superior de Arte e Design das Caldas da Rainha; Instituto Superior Técnico; Universidade de Aveiro. 

Category 1: Prize handed by the president of LEN/LNEG, Dr. Hélder Gonçalves to IMPERALUM, represented by Eng. Ana Pacheco Category 1: Prize handed to the representative of the DAP Habitat System, Eng. Ana Garrido
Category 2: Prize handed to the designer Marco Balsinha (project UROBORO). Category 2: Honorable Mention handed to Eng. Nuno Oliveira Martins, from SunOK.
