Alliance between French and Belgian Competitiveness Clusters

On December 2nd 2014, competitiveness clusters GreenWin and Trimatec signed a partnership agreement during the opening of the Pollutec conference in Lyon. The agreement was signed in the presence of Mrs. Ségolène Royal, French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, and Mrs. Fabienne Reuter, Delegate of the Wallonia-Brussels Region in Paris.

By way of a series of discussions held between the two competitiveness clusters since 2013, a common vision has emerged: to engage industry in sustainable development, by optimising the integration of clean processes which maximise the use and value of bio-resources.  Furthermore, members of both competitiveness clusters benefit from points of close convergence around cleantech and green chemistry.

Through this partnership, GreenWin and Trimatec have the common objective of associating their competencies and networks, to undertake joint actions to stimulate technological and commercial cross-border cooperation, particularly between the Belgian region of Wallonia and French regions of Languedoc Roussillon, Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, Rhône Alpes.

Thanks to complementary positioning of GreenWin and Trimatec members along the value chain, their cooperation will stimulate innovative international projects at the crossroads of their respective sectors, and thus leverage the critical mass of actors required to influence the green chemistry and cleantech sectors at the European level.

Both GreenWin and Trimatec are partners of Waste Meetings, an exclusive business convention on waste treatment, recycling, and recovery, during which tailored matchmaking encounters are organised between buyers and contractors, and decision makers. The second edition of Waste Meetings will take place in Lyon, France, on 2 – 3 December 2015. For more information, please visit
